Trip to the Houses of Parliament

Wednesday 13th May – Chaplin Class Trip

On Wednesday 13th May – The Chaplin class will attend an educational visit to the Houses of Parliament. This trip is designed to help students understand how Parliament works and how laws are made in the United Kingdom. Students will learn about the roles of Members of Parliament and the importance of democratic decision-making.

During the visit, students will have the opportunity to explore key areas connected with Parliament and observe how the building supports political activity. They will also discuss the significance of voting, representation, and public debate in shaping the country’s laws. Staff from Education Links will guide students and ensure that everyone follows the agreed expectations for behaviour and safety.

The trip will provide a valuable learning experience linked to students’ studies of government and society. By visiting the Houses of Parliament, students can connect classroom learning to real-world examples of democracy in action. We encourage students to prepare questions in advance and to participate respectfully throughout the day.

  • Departure: 11:00am from school via public transport
  • This trip is designed to support students’ understanding of government and civic processes (and meet the Local MP for Stratford and Bow).
